The chord progression was originally the intro/verse of a song that was back then named “Withering Clouds Beneath”. The band I was in at the time (mid 90ies) was called “Ways Of Desolation”. A year later the band was renamed “Thought Sphere” and the song was renamed “Clouds Beneath”. Our new singer didn´t like the “bleak verse” of the song and had it removed from the tune. That part I then referred to as “Withering” in the following 18 years. Not that anyone cared …
In summer of 2013 I started jamming on the chords and remembered the main theme it had back then and I really liked it, so I decided to try it for the new album. Here it is!
